Telehealth Services Policy
Understanding our virtual consultation process, technology requirements, and what to expect from telemedicine services.
How Virtual Consultations Work
Step 1: Schedule Your Consultation
Book your appointment through our online scheduling system. Select a date and time that works for you, and provide your medical history and current health concerns.
Step 2: Complete Pre-Visit Paperwork
Fill out all required intake forms, medical history questionnaires, and consent documents. This information helps your provider prepare for your visit.
Step 3: Receive Appointment Confirmation
You'll receive an email confirmation with a secure video link, appointment instructions, and what to have ready for your consultation (current medications, symptom log, questions list).
Step 4: Join Your Video Consultation
At your scheduled time, click the secure video link to connect with your healthcare provider. The consultation typically lasts 20-45 minutes depending on the complexity of your health concerns.
Step 5: Receive Your Treatment Plan
After your consultation, your provider will develop a personalized treatment plan. If appropriate, prescriptions will be sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy, and follow-up instructions will be provided by the provider.

Patient Responsibilities
Provide Accurate Information
You are responsible for providing complete and accurate medical history, current medications, allergies, and symptoms. Withholding information may affect the quality and safety of your care.
Ensure Privacy During Consultation
Join your appointment from a private location where your conversation cannot be overheard. Do not record the consultation without explicit consent from your provider.
Verify Your Physical Location
You must disclose your physical location (state) at the beginning of each telehealth visit. Our providers can only deliver services to patients located in states where they hold active medical licenses.
Be On Time and Prepared
Log in 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Have your list of questions, current medications, and any relevant medical records ready. Late arrivals may result in shortened consultation time or rescheduling.
Follow Provider Instructions
Follow all treatment recommendations, medication instructions, and follow-up care plans. Contact your provider if you have questions or experience unexpected symptoms.
Maintain Updated Contact Information
Keep your phone number, email address, and emergency contact information current with our staff. This ensures we can reach you if needed.
Report Technical Issues Immediately
If your connection drops or video/audio quality is poor, notify your provider immediately. We may need to reschedule or continue via phone to ensure quality care.

Limitations of Telehealth vs In-Person Care
While telehealth offers convenient access to healthcare, it has important limitations compared to traditional in-person visits. Understanding these limitations helps ensure you receive appropriate care.
No Physical Examination
Providers cannot perform hands-on physical examinations during telehealth visits. This limits our ability to assess certain conditions that require palpation, auscultation, or physical manipulation. Conditions requiring physical examination will need an in-person visit.
Limited Diagnostic Capabilities
Laboratory tests, imaging (X-rays, ultrasounds, MRIs), vital signs measurements, and other diagnostic procedures cannot be performed remotely. Patients may need to visit a laboratory or imaging center for necessary testing.
Not Suitable for Emergencies
Telehealth is not appropriate for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, loss of consciousness, stroke symptoms, or any life-threatening condition, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.
Technology-Dependent
Telehealth visits require reliable internet connectivity and functioning technology. Poor connection quality, audio/video issues, or technical failures can interrupt or prevent care delivery. Technical problems may necessitate rescheduling.
Prescribing Limitations
Federal and state regulations limit the prescribing of certain controlled substances via telehealth. Some medications may require an initial in-person evaluation. DEA-scheduled medications have specific prescribing requirements that vary by state.
Procedural Limitations
Procedures such as injections, IV therapy, minor surgeries, wound care, biopsies, and other hands-on treatments cannot be performed via telehealth and require in-person visits at our clinic.
Visual Assessment Only
Providers can only assess what is visible through the camera. Rashes, wounds, or skin conditions may be difficult to evaluate accurately depending on lighting and camera quality. Some conditions may require in-person examination for accurate diagnosis.
Immediate Response Limitations
If your condition deteriorates rapidly during a telehealth visit, the provider cannot provide immediate hands-on intervention. You may be directed to seek emergency care or schedule an urgent in-person visit.
When to Choose In-Person Care
An in-person visit at our clinic may be necessary or preferable for:
- Initial comprehensive physical examinations
- Acute illnesses requiring immediate assessment
- Procedures requiring hands-on treatment
- Complex diagnostic evaluations
- Conditions requiring physical examination findings
- Laboratory testing and specimen collection
- Injections, IV therapy, and infusions
- Patient preference for face-to-face care

- You consent to the use of video conferencing technology for healthcare delivery
- You understand that the same privacy and confidentiality protections apply as in-person visits
- You may withdraw consent and request in-person care at any time
